It really depends on what you’re cooking. Because of its versatility, the Adventure-Q can comfortably handle meals for 2 to 8 people.
- Grilling/BBQing: Fits 2 generously sized steaks or up to 6 lamb chops — perfect for 2 adults (and a child).
- Stews, casseroles & slow cooks: Can stretch further, serving up to 8 people in one cook.
Just about anything! From BBQ ribs, steaks, and satay sticks to steamed fish, dumplings, casseroles, curries, slow-cooked lamb shanks — even breakfast favourites like fried eggs, pancakes and toasties. You can also bake bread and cakes or slow-cook rich stews and casseroles.
Yes! The Adventure-Q can be used just like a camp oven. We’ve successfully roasted cuts of meat on an induction hotplate by placing them in the BBQ pan with the kettle lid on top. The best method is to rest the meat on a bed of chopped vegetables (like potatoes or carrots) to circulate heat and create a delicious one-pan roast.
We’re still experimenting with roasting over gas or fire, but the design makes it absolutely possible with the right setup and heat control.
Yes. The Adventure-Q works on gas, induction, and hotplate cooktops, as well as in the oven.
Yes, with care. Because of the non-stick coating, the BBQ pan should not be exposed to extreme, uncontrolled heat. If using fire:
- Keep it raised above the coals
- Avoid roaring flames
- Monitor heat carefully to protect the non-stick surface
