Why this recipe works

The Adventure-Q makes breakfast quick and easy by cooking every ingredient in the one pan. Lightly toasting the wraps adds extra texture, while the dome lid cooks the eggs perfectly, whether you prefer them runny or fully set. It’s a simple, satisfying breakfast that’s easy to customise with your favourite fillings.

Kate’s notes

I simply used the ingredients I had on hand, but this recipe is incredibly versatile. Add your favourite vegetables, sauces or cheeses to make it your own. It’s a great option for camping breakfasts or an easy meal at home.

Time

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Serves 2

  • 2 wraps
  • 4 slices short-cut bacon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • ½ avocado, sliced or mashed
  • Sweet chilli sauce

Taste test notes

The crispy bacon, perfectly cooked eggs and melted cheese make this a hearty breakfast, while the avocado and sweet chilli sauce add freshness and flavour. Toasting the wraps gives them a delicious golden finish and helps hold everything together.

Method

  1. Grate the cheese and mash or slice the avocado.
  2. Preheat the Daymo Adventure-Q.
  3. Lightly toast each wrap for approximately 30 seconds on each side, then remove and set aside.
  4. Spread the avocado over each wrap, then top with grated cheese and sweet chilli sauce to your taste.
  5. Place the bacon into the Adventure-Q. No additional oil is needed, as the bacon will render its own fat.
  6. Cook the bacon until it reaches your preferred level of crispness. If cooking several pieces at once, you can layer them in pairs and rotate them during cooking for even browning.
  7. Once cooked, remove the bacon or move it to the side of the Adventure-Q to keep warm.
  8. Crack the eggs into the pan, spreading the egg white slightly so each egg forms an elongated shape that fits neatly inside the wraps.
  9. Cover with the Daymo dome lid, keeping the vent closed, and cook until the eggs are done to your liking. For sunny-side-up eggs, leave the lid on until the yolks gently poach.
  10. Layer the bacon and eggs onto the prepared wraps.
  11. Roll the wraps tightly and either enjoy immediately or return them to the Adventure-Q for a minute or two to lightly toast the outside.

Enjoy!
